When the world gets a little too noisy or when we're feeling disconnected and in desparate need of solace or adventure, many of us turn to nature. The joys of camping are innately human and for many, our gateway back to those nostalgic memories of easier times with family and friends. If you're famous and living under a microscope, it would appear the need for peace and privacy is not only desired, but necessary. These celebrities have taken full advantage of the RV lifestyle with their homes on wheels. Check out the rigs of Matthew McConaughey, Ashton Kutcher, John Mayer, Gwen Stefani and Kellie Pickler below.

Matthew McConaughey
RV: 2004 Airstream International CCD 28

"The thing about small spaces is that they're relaxing," McConaughey told Architectural Digest when the magazine toured his renovated space in Malibu. Though one of the biggest actors in the world, his greatest ambition is to one day own an Airstream hotel or Airstream compound. McConaughey has been spotted across the country vacationing with his family in "The Canoe," the name he chose for his rig after spending time at the Squamish Nation Reservation in Canada.

Kellie Pickler
RV:
Marathon Coach Prevost Bus

The American Idol finalist turned country music star actually grew up in a trailer and now has one of the most luxurious RVs on the road. Almost every inch of Faye, (named after her late grandmother) has been customized to fit Pickler's needs. With four tv's (one in each bunk, living room and master), built-in kennels for her two pups, a guest bathroom and shoe display she refers to as her trophy case, the "Red High Heels" singer really has it made in motorhome heaven.

Ashton Kutcher
Kutcher not only opted for an RV honeymoon with wife Mila Kunis (the couple met on the iconic sitcom That '70s Show back in 1998), he also purchased an RV for his father. After finding success in Hollywood he was able to help his dad retire early and surprise him with a motorhome so he could live out his lifelong ambition to cruise the country. No stranger to RVs, Kutcher's Two and A Half Men trailer was a two-story, 52ft long, 30-ton luxury home many deem a "mobile estate."

John Mayer
RV:
Ford F-550 EarthRoamer XL-LTS

The Grammy-winning musician took to Instagram to share his newest family member. "I am a proud owner of this most formidable go-anywhere, live-anywhere vehicle. One year and many meetings in the making, she's all mine. Completely hand built in Colorado by extremely talented and innovative men and women. Who knows where I'll end up next." Purchased in 2014, the home on wheels still pops up in Mayer's feed time and time again.

Gwen Stefani
RV:
Fleetwood Pusher

Marble flooring, check. Wine chiller, check. Number Bed, you bet. Gwen Stefani's motorhome is luxurious, spacious and practical for her large family. The artist turned clothing designer put her talent to use. The Fleetwood interior is noticeably chic and sophisticated. There's no doubt this RV was made for a great escape.
