Did you know that today, August 10th, is National S'mores Day? If ever there were a hashtag holiday that served the RV community, it's this one. Grab the littles, your friends, family and loved ones, head to your campground and celebrate the best way road warriors know how - by making the most iconic campfire treat! We've outlined our favorite s'mores recipes below to help you celebrate this delicious holiday. From the classic s'more to kid approved recipes and more, check out these must-eat holiday recipes. THE CLASSIC S'MORE
Who else would have the most classic s'mores recipe other than Hershey's Chocolate? We snagged this easy and timeless recipe from Hershey's Kitchen. Below you will find the ingredients and simple steps to make perfect s'mores on #NationalSmoresDay!

Ingredients:
- 2 Marshmallows
- 2 Graham crackers
- 1 Hershey's milk chocolate bar

Steps:
1. Start your campfire and burn for 30 minutes to get hot coals cooking.
2. Break your graham cracker and chocolate bar in half.
3. Place each chocolate bar on a graham cracker.
4. Roast your marshmallows over campfire until golden brown.
5. Place marshmallows between each 'sandwich' piece of the chocolate and graham cracker.
6. Sandwich the graham crackers together and press down.
7. Enjoy!

THE KID FRIENDLY S'MORE
Kids love ice cream and kids love s'mores, so why not combine the two for the ultimate summer-campground snack? Delish featured this amazing recipe and we're here for her. Check out the simple way to become the cool parents at the campground on National S'mores Day!

Ingredients:
- 1 Graham cracker
- 1 scoop ice cream (choose your favorite flavor!)
- 1/4 cup toasted mini marshmallows
- Chocolate Sauce for drizzling

Steps:
1. Start your campfire and burn for 30 minutes to get hot coals cooking.
2. Break your graham crackers in half.
3. Toast mini marshmallows until golden brown.
4. Scoop ice cream onto one graham cracker square.
5. Top with a toasted marshmallow.
6. Sandwich with another graham cracker square and drizzle with chocolate sauce.
7. Enjoy!

 



 

THE MEATY S'MORE
Someone call dad to the campfire - this one's for him. Who said bacon is only for breakfast? This salty and sweet s'more recipe is perfect for those who want a little meat in their dessert. We found this clever recipe on Shared Appetite.

Ingredients:
- 1 Marshmallow
- 1 Graham cracker
- 1 Hershey's milk chocolate bar
- Bacon (as much or as little as you want or a recommendation of one to two pieces per s'more)
- Brown sugar

Steps:
1. Start your campfire and burn for 30 minutes to get hot coals cooking.
2. Coat your bacon with brown sugar and place on a baking sheet.
3. Bake at 375-400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-25 minutes (the longer you bake, the more crispy your bacon will be).
4. Break your graham crackers and chocolate bars in half.
5. Place each chocolate bar on each graham cracker.
6. Roast marshmallow over the campfire until golden brown.
7. Break bacon into pieces and place them on top of your chocolate.
8. Place marshmallows between each 'sandwich' piece of the chocolate and graham cracker.
9. Sandwich the graham crackers together and press down.
10. Enjoy!

 



 

THE SOPHISTICATED S'MORE
Everyone loves chocolate-covered strawberries, so why not turn this sophisticated dessert into the ultimate campground treat? This recipe from Oh So Delicioso is perfect for those who want to add a little fruit and class to their s'mores habit! If you'd like to make a triple decker s'more like the picture above shows, add two marshmallows, twice the amount of strawberry slices and an extra chocolate graham cracker square to your creation.

Ingredients:
- Chocolate graham cracker
- Marshmallow
- 2 Strawberries sliced
- Nutella

Steps:
1. Start your campfire and burn for 30 minutes to get the hot coals cooking.
2. Break your chocolate graham cracker in half. Coat each piece with Nutella.
3. Slice two strawberries.
4. Place sliced strawberries on each chocolate graham cracker piece.
5. Roast your marshmallow over the campfire until golden brown.
6. Place a roasted marshmallow on top of your chocolate graham cracker.
7. Sandwich the graham crackers together and press down.
8. Enjoy!

THE ADVENTUROUS LUNCH S'MORE
Can't wait for dessert after dinner to get your s'more fit this National S'mores Day? You're in luck! Feast your eyes on the most decadent lunch you've had all quarantine. That's right, this is a s'more grilled cheese. The folks at Delish came up with this eye-candy recipe and we're ready for it. Check out the details below on how to make your very own.

Ingredients:
- 4 tbsp. butter
- 2 slices white bread
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- 2 graham crackers crushed
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon sugar

Steps:
1. Top one piece of bread with marshmallows, chocolate chips, and crushed graham crackers.
2. Place the second piece of bread on top.
3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. This can also be down over the campfire!
4. Cook your sandwich until golden brown.
5. Toast each side for nearly two minutes.
6. Immediately sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the sandwich and serve warm.
7. Enjoy!
