Practical RV Gift Ideas

It's that time of year again when we are thinking about our shopping lists and seeking to select that perfect gift. Shopping for RVers is fun because they often also love all things outdoors. Let's start with some gift items that are a little more practical for RV campers.

RV Kitchen And Cooking Must-Haves

One thing that almost all RVers have is a need for coffee in the morning while camping. A Keurig K-Mini is the perfect small space coffee maker for an RV. As a bonus, it also comes in many different colors.

One kitchen appliance that we can never get by without in our RV is our Ninja Foodi. This one-pot cooker really does it all in a small space without using any propane. It air fries, bakes, sautees, and pressure cooks. We absolutely love the time it saves us, and your RVer will too.

An outdoor grill is a must for camping. Cooking outside is always fun when RVing, and several small space-saving grill options work great. We actually have two different propane grills with us in the RV because we love them both. The first one is a Blackstone flat top grill. We also have a Weber portable propane grill. Either is a great option for RVers!

Outdoor Seating

Outdoor seating is a great gift for RVers who love spending time outside. Traditional folding camp chairs are always popular. Some fun seating options include rocking camp chairs, hammock chairs, and reclining zero-gravity chairs. Outdoor inflatable furniture is a fun and unusual option that could also make a great gift. A hammock is also a great gift for RVers.

Portable Fire Pits

Some campgrounds don't provide fire pits, and others have requirements to keep the fire in an elevated container off of the ground. The solution for campers who would still love to enjoy a fire is to bring along their own portable propane fire pit. One great option is the Solo Stove. Please always check the fire requirements in your camping area.

Campfire Accessories

Campfire accessories are always a huge hit with RVers. Items like a cast iron skillet, smore maker fire rack, or marshmallow pokers will be a huge hit. What about also adding a campfire recipe book to the items to complete the gift?

Fun Gift Items

Now that we got some of the more practical gift items for RVers out of the way, let's jump into more fun items. Let your RV traveler's personality shine with these fun gift ideas!

Outdoor Games

RVers love to sit outside and hang out at the campsite. Why not gift the RVer on your list a fun outdoor game? Cornhole, Washers, and Ladder Ball are classic camping yard games. Kan Jam is a newer popular outdoor game with campers. Yard Darts are another great option.

Our favorite games to play with kids include the OgoSport and the Beamo. The OgoSport, sometimes called OgoDisk, is like a small handheld trampoline paddle that hits a soft ball back and forth. The trampoline surface makes an interesting bounce that is irresistible to play with. The Beamo is an enormous soft ring to throw back and forth like a frisbee. It's extra fun because it's easier to catch and soft on the hands. Both games only include soft materials, so if it gets away from your campsite, no damage will be done if it hits something.

Campsite Decor

Many RVers love to decorate their campsite. An outdoor rug is one way to make the space cozy and also help to keep it clean. There are many size and color options available. A foldable side table and a solar table lantern are additional items to complete the cozy outdoor campsite setup.

Another popular way to decorate a campsite is with decorative flags. Garden flags are portable and can make the perfect fun gift. They come in many hilarious sayings that are perfect for camping, and you can find one that fits the personality of the RVer on your gift list.

Custom Campsite Sign

One incredible personalized gift for an RVer is a custom campsite sign. You can have a plastic or wooden sign made with the RVer's last name, where they are from, and even pet names included. Having a sign outside is a great conversation starter among RVers. A place to order a custom sign and many other custom gifts is Etsy.

RV State Sticker Map

A really fun gift for RVers to display outside is an RV state sticker map. This map is usually placed on the side of a slide, on a hatch, or on the door and has state stickers for the RVer to add once they have traveled to that state. This map is a travel memento and also a great conversation starter among RVers. There are also sticker maps for Canadian Provinces.

Many RVers also have fun little rules about when they add the state sticker to the map. Our family rule is that we have to either spend one night in the state or do an activity there to be able to add it. Driving through the state doesn't count for us to add the sticker. Each time we get to add one, it is a big deal because each sticker represents so many memories and adventures!

RV Travel Books

Is the RV travel lover on your list also into books? Our favorite books for RVers are Where Should We Camp Next by Stephanie Puglisi and RV Hacks: 400+ Ways To Make Life On The Road Easier, Safer, and More Fun. For kids, a few great travel books are The 50 States: Explore the U.S.A. With 50 Fact-Filled Maps, 50 Adventures In The 50 States, and National Geographic Kids Ultimate U.S. Road Trip Atlas.

National Park Enthusiasts

RV travel and national parks seem to go hand in hand. Many RVers visit the parks or have national parks on their travel bucket lists. After all, they are the ultimate nature destinations for outdoor travel. National park gifts are perfect for RVers.

National Park Books

Before we began traveling, I bought a book that quickly became my favorite travel book. The book Your Guide To The National Parks by Michael Oswald is the perfect book to help any RV traveler plan national park trips. It contains park maps, park activities, hiking trails, sample itineraries, and places to stay. We used this book so much that it eventually fell apart, and we bought it a second time. Yes, it is that good!

For kid's national parks books, we love the Adventures With The Parkers book series by Mike Graf. There is a book for many of the national parks in the series. Each book follows a family throughout their camping trip while telling exciting fictional stories mixed with national park facts. These books are great for getting kids excited before a park visit and helping them learn more about the location. Also, check out the book National Parks Of The U.S.A. by Kate Siber.

National Parks Pass

If the RV traveler on your gift list is just getting started or hasn't visited many national parks just yet, consider getting them a pass to the national parks. The America The Beautiful National Parks And Federal Lands Pass covers the national park entrance for the family for a year for $80. It also covers entrance fees at other Federal lands, such as the Bureau Of Land Management. You can buy the pass online at the USGS Store.

A scratch-off national park map is a fun gift item to pair with a national park pass. National park travelers love to track which parks they have visited and which are still on their bucket lists. There are many map options to mark park travels, but the scratch-off national park map is the most fun!

National Park Swag

If your RV traveler is already a huge fan of the national parks, consider getting some national park swag. T-shirts, mugs, magnets, and travel stickers are popular national park items. We are huge fans of the Wild Tribute national park shirts found at wildtribute.com. As a bonus, a small percentage of the purchase from this company goes back to the national parks. For great stickers, check out the Western National Parks Association at store.wnpa.org. You can also find national park items online that are found in the park gift shops at shop.americasnationalparks.org.

Great Family Gifts For RVers

Looking for a whole family gift? One of our family's absolute favorite items we have used during our RV travels is inflatable paddle boards. They fold up for storage, inflate easily with an electric pump, and are lightweight enough that we can easily carry them to the water. Check the weight limit on the paddle board. We selected boards that could hold 2 of us so that our daughter could choose to hop on with either one of us.

Bikes or scooters are also a great RV family gift. New electric bike options can help travelers take longer trails and go farther around town. Whether riding around campgrounds or taking off on trails, bikes are a great way to enjoy time outside.

Experiences As Gifts

A great gift for an RV traveling adult, child, or family is experience tickets or activity gift cards. Great travel experiences that can be purchased ahead of time include amusement parks, zoos, shows, golf, tours, horseback riding, or city passes. Sometimes RVers already have just about everything for camping but would absolutely love an activity or experience to enjoy.

Additional Ideas For Kids

A great idea for kids that travel is to get them a backpack with binoculars, a magnifying glass, a nature or travel journal, and a compass. That way, they can bring along their little treasures and get involved in being outdoors. Keeping kids busy and exploring helps to keep them engaged in travel activities.

Camera

A camera is another great gift idea for a child that travels. Encouraging kids to take pictures is the perfect way to keep them interested and involved in the trip. It's also precious to see things from their perspective in the photos they take. You can even take the child's photos and make a photo book for them to remember the trip by. They will be so proud of the photos they took.

With this holiday gift guide, you are sure to find the perfect present for all of the RVers and outdoor enthusiasts on your list. While some of these gifts are practical, and others are just fun, your favorite traveler will greatly appreciate them. So get out there and start shopping!
