Today more than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities around the world. This year, Earth Day Networks campaign is to End Plastic Pollution. Whether you're interested in learning how to reduce your waste or you're feeling motivated to physically clean up the coast, we've outlined some of the best Earth Day activities located in some of the most beautiful places across the United States.

Earth Day Street Fair
Location: Civic Center Plaza - San Francisco, CA
When: April 21, 2018
Time: 11am-7pm

The Bay area is hosting an Earth Day Street Fair this year. The event is themed, "Stand for the Redwoods/Stand for the Future," ands will include speaking engagements from former California State Senator Mark Leno, along with several renowned speakers, eco-innovators and green industry leaders. You will be able to enjoy interactive D.I.Y. workshops, celebrity chef showcases and first-hand conversations with leaders in sustainable fashion and alternative energy. There will be an eco-carnival complete with a kid's zone and live music throughout the day. Make sure to come hungry and enjoy the organic food court. The Bay area offers more green space than any other municipality in the U.S. With over 220 parks, you will come for Earth Day but stay for the month exploring this breathtaking city.

Awakened Life Yoga Festival

Are you looking for an active way to enjoy Earth Day? Check out the Awakened Life Yoga Festival. The 3-day fest is an annual family-friendly yoga retreat that offers a variety of practices including, but not limited to, Power Vinyasa, Buti, Acro, Restorative and Kundalini. "A space for renewal, music, play, singing, dancing and contemplation," you'll experience a deeply immersive weekend with like minded individuals. Come stay in cabins or tent camp on Shelby Lake.

Earth Day Celebration and Marsh Restoration
Location: Mystic Aquarium - Mystic, Connecticut

Interested in giving back on Earth Day? Join Mystic Aquarium on Thursday as they offer workshops on practical strategies to reduce your environmental impact. The aquarium will have scavenger hunts, hands-on activities hosted throughout the day and enjoy the whale, penguin and shark exhibits after. Then, on Sunday, come to the Dodge Paddock and Beal Preserve to learn (hands on) how to prepare a marsh for summer! There is no fee but registration is encouraged to ensure all participants have gloves, buckets and additional supplies.

Earth Day Challenge
Location: Mill Creek Canyon - Moab, Utah

Moab is home to Arches and Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, the La Sal Mountains and endless acres of beautiful public terrain. On Earth Day, Moab Solutions, a group that organizes local clean ups and recycling programs, is hosting a work along clean up focusing on removing trash and recycling from the creek and parkway lands. Meet at the Mill Creek Animal Hospital parking lot. After you finish giving back to the area, head into Arches to catch an epic sunset at the iconic Delicate Arch.

Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration
Location: Porter Country Expo Center - Valparaiso, Indiana

Northwest Indiana's premier environmental event offers dozens of Earth Day exhibitors and entertainment. You will enjoy a live animal show, dumpster drummers, a reuse fair where you bring unwanted items to donate, an alternate fuel vehicle display and numerous games and prizes for children. Indiana is home to stunning state parks, including but not limited to, Potato Creek, Charlestown and Ouabache State Park. Come to Northwest Indiana for this exciting Earth Day event and stay for a week to enjoy the beautiful lakes and hiking trails this area has to offer.

Spring Clean and Earth Day Festival
Location: Centennial Park - Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville's Spring Clean Earth Day Festival offers tons of family friend events with live entertainment and hands-on activities. There will be over 100 booths hosted by local community groups, environmental organizations and government agencies. Forums will lead the discussion on how to protect the environment and what living green really looks like for all atendees. The local farmers market, Green Market, will be offering produce and handmade goods during the event. If you want to get your hands dirty, join Mayor Barry for his Citywide Spring Clean Up. When you're ready to relax, check out the local Beer Garden that will be set up near the events main stage.
