CATCH THE CHANGING LEAVES
From New York to South Carolina, Kansas and New Mexico, there are dozens of locations to catch the changing leaves no matter where you're RVing. HIKING WITH A VIEW
Enjoy America's National Parks like never before by taking advantage of the delicious fall weather this autumn. While summer continued to bring heatwaves and crowds, the off season is a time where RVers can spend less of their day worrying about finding a non-crowded campgrounds and more of their time adventuring. Below we've outlined three of our very favorite hikes that are kid-friendly and perfect for the cooler season.
Tower Fall, Upper Yellowstone Falls, Mystic Falls, and Union Falls.
Lower Falls is the biggest waterfall in Yellowstone National Park at a stunning 308 feet. You can easily enjoy this breathtaking waterfall from multiple locations that include Inspiration Point, Grandview Post and Artists Point. If you're adventurous and want to experience the view from the top, enjoy Uncle Tom's Trail, a mile round-trip hike riddled with steep switchbacks and elevation. This hike is not for the faint of heart.
Hadlock Falls is great for those of you that want to enjoy a leisurely hike to a beautiful water oasis. The 1.8 mile round-trip trail begins at the Parkman Mountain parking lot. Follow Carriage Road south from the parking lot and begin your hike to the waterfall. You'll pass two beautiful carriage road bridges along the way.
Narrows, Archangel Falls and Lower Pine Creek Waterfall.
Multiple hikes lead to Zion's lower, middle and upper Emerald Pools. Locate the Emerald Pools trailhead and begin the easy hike that brings you to the Lower and Middle glistening pools and waterfalls. You'll be surrounded by a paradise of greenery and towering rocks, iconic to Zion. To reach the Upper Pool, access the Kayenta trailhead and begin your 200 foot climb in elevation. The trail is 1.5 miles and is rated as a moderate hike. It is not wheelchair accessible.

Welcome to the treasure chest of family-centered campground activities. Make your way to the Great Smoky Mountains and you've hit the jackpot. River Plantation RV Resort has multiple playgrounds and pools as well as a lazy river, splash pad, bark park, basketball courts, golf cart ramp, and aerial adventure course! It's really a young explorer's heaven! As if that weren't enticing enough, the RV resort is a quick drive to Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, Discover Zoo, Adventure Park Five Oaks as well as Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The National Park is also an ideal spot to catch the changing leaves this Fall 2020.
Kiptopeke State Park is nestled on the eastern shore of Virginia and is known for its recreational access to the Chesapeake Bay. The campground is ideal for families with kids of all ages as it offers activities including but not limited to hiking trails, fishing, access to the beach, swimming, a playground, a pier, motorboats, and canoeing. Kiptopeke State Park is a well known site for bird population studies. From August through November, you can volunteer with the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory and participate in the capture, examine, weigh, band and release of migratory birds including hawks, kestrels, and osprey. This unique educational experience is perfect for older kids.
